UAPB Baseball Takes on Top-Ranked Arkansas in a Two-Game Series

FAYETTEVILLE, AR -- The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff baseball team will take on the number-one ranked University of Arkansas Razorbacks on the road in a two-game series at Baum-Walker Stadium beginning on Tuesday, April 13th at 6:30 p.m.


In the previous matchup with the Golden Lions and the Razorbacks, UAPB fell to Arkansas with a final score of 16-4 in seven innings back in 2019, making tomorrow the second meeting between the two in 20 seasons.


The Golden Lions enter this series looking to upset Arkansas after dropping a two-game series against Kansas State (2-12, 0-12) in Manhattan, KS last week.


Senior infielder Nick Kreutzer currently leads the Golden Lions at the plate, hitting five big home runs and also leads with 17 RBI's. Sophomore infielder DeClaudio Irvin has also been remarkable at the plate this season, leading the Golden Lions with 18 hits, followed by junior Kacy Higgins leading with a batting average of .324.


Arkansas is coming off a 18-14 victory over number-three ranked Ole Miss and are led at the plate by Charlie Welch, batting .381 for the Razorbacks.


The game will be televised live on SEC Network+ on the ESPN+ App with the first pitch at 6:30 p.m.
