PINE BLUFF, AR – Ready to roar for their successive win of the season, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff men’s basketball team is set for action against Ecclesia College on Saturday at H.O. Clemmons Arena.
Shawn Williams leads the Golden Lion pack, who averages 13.9 points per game, shooting 91.3 percent from the free-throw line and currently ranks second in the SWAC (Southwestern Athletic Conference) in assists, distributing the basketball well for a 3.8 assist average. Williams tops all three-point shooters in the SWAC, averaging 2.8 made perimeter shots per game.
Behind Williams is the long stretch forward Trey Sampson, averaging 12.3 points per game, shooting 41.7 percent from the field while grabbing 5.1 rebounds per game.
Kylen Milton’s shot-creating skills will come in handy for the Golden Lions as he averages 11.7 points per game and 3.5 rebounds.
The “King of the Jungle” Brandon Brown is ready to take over for Arkansas-Pine Bluff as he averages a consistent 9.8 points per game shooting the basketball at 47.8 percent from the field and currently sits at third in the conference, snatching 8.1 boards per game for the Golden Lions.
Capping things off for the Golden Lions is returner Dequan Morris who averages an athletic 9.8 points, knocking down half of his shots from the field.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff is coming off a 63-31 loss to No. 17 ranked Texas on Tuesday.
The Golden Lions will face an Ecclesia Royal team coming off an 83-73 loss to Central Christian College.
