UAPB Men's Hoops Set to Compete with No. 19 Iowa State

AMES, IA – Coming off their first victory of the season against Arkansas Baptist, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff men’s basketball team made their way to the Midwest to take on No. 19 ranked Iowa State tonight at 7 p.m. CT at the Hilton Coliseum.


Leading the Golden Lions is Shawn Williams, who averages 15.4 points and 3.5 assists per game. Williams had ten points and six assists on Monday night.


Returning to his home state, Davenport, Iowa native Trey Sampson averages 13 points per game for the Golden Lions and 5.1 boards a game. Sampson finished with 21 points and six rebounds in the team’s recent victory.


Kylen Milton will be a vital part of a Golden Lion success as he averages a consistent 12.6 points per game.


Arkansas-Pine Bluff is coming off a 75-70 win over Arkansas Baptist to gain their first season victory and get UAPB head coach Solomon Bozeman his first career victory as a head coach.


The Golden Lions will face an Iowa State team coming off a 78-59 upset victory over No. 18 Memphis to get into the AP Week four Top-25 rankings as No. 19.
