UAPB Soccer Drops an Upset Against Prairie View A&M

LITTLE ROCK, AR – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women's soccer team took a loss to the Prairie View A&M Panthers with a final score of 1-0 Sunday morning at the Coleman Sports & Recreation Complex.

Looking forward to bouncing back from their first loss of the season against Texas Southern, the Lady Lions played with lots of effort and great energy against the Lady Panthers, as they went into halftime tied at 0-0.

The Panthers would come out in the second half to score the go-ahead goal in the 54-minute mark.

The Lady Lions played well on the defensive side with great minutes from freshman Cayla Goncalves, giving her all on the defensive end. Junior Kimberly Moss did a great job of protecting UAPB's goal, saving nine shots.

"I was very pleased on how the team performed today, we just have to work on our attack," said first year UAPB head coach Erik Solberg on the team's performance against Prairie View A&M.

The Lady Lions will prepare to resume action in Alabama, taking on Alabama State on Friday at 6 p.m. and Alabama A&M on Sunday at 1 p.m.
