PINE BLUFF, AR – Looking to extend to a two-game winning streak, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff football team dropped their final home conference game to Florida A&M Rattlers at Simmons Bank Field this season with a final score of 37-7.

QB Skyler Perry led the Golden Lions, throwing 158 passing yards, going 13-for-24 at a 54-percent completion rate.

WR Trey Harrell made his Louisiana connection with Perry, allowing him to lead in receiving yards, with 37-yards through three receptions including a long 20-yard pass.

The Rattlers took the first lead of the game, scoring on a 16-yard completion for a touchdown to take a 6-0 lead in the first quarter.

The UAPB defense would keep Florida A&M from scoring another touchdown in the first quarter, with LB Kolby Watts and DB Keyvien Johnson combining for nine first quarter stops against the Rattlers.

Watts and Johnson would combine for 30 tackles, each with 15 tackles apiece.

In the second quarter, UAPB would go on an 11-play scoring drive for 75 yards. Gaining four first-down plays through the drive, UAPB would lie on the FAMU three-yard line. With a handoff from Perry, RB Kierre Crossley made his way to the endzone to get the Golden Lions on the board, taking a one-point lead over Florida A&M 7 – 6.

The Rattlers would score two more touchdowns, causing the Golden Lions to trail 27 – 7 at the half.

The Golden Lions would try and fight their way back in the second half but would fail as the Rattlers would add on to their lead to clinch the road win with a final score of 37 – 7.

The Golden Lions will return to the gridiron in their last regular-season game, traveling to Huntsville, Alabama, for a rematch of the 2021 spring SWAC Championship against the Alabama A&M Bulldogs.
