PINE BLUFF, AR – Putting the pieces together last week against Grambling State, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff football team will prepare to take on the SWAC newcomers, Florida A&M, on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Simmons Bank Field.
This will be the first time in history UAPB will line up in formation against FAMU.
The Golden Lions had some tremendous performances in last week's 33 – 26 victory over Grambling State, with freshman DB Andre Fuller ending the game with a play that would be heard around the world, with an interception that would save the game.
Junior QB Skyler Perry had a field day against Grambling State, leading the Golden Lions in rushing yards, gaining 179 yards along with 163 passing yards, passing the ball at an impressive 50-percent.
Perry currently leads the team in passing yards, throwing 1,408 yards so far this season.

Back on the gridiron for the Golden Lions is senior WR Tyrin Ralph, who is expected to bring the jets to the field, attacking gaps and outrun the FAMU defense.
Senior RB Kierre Crossley currently leads in rushing yards with 340 yards on the season, followed by senior WR Josh Wilkes leading in receiving yards with 437 yards.
On the defensive side of the football, junior LB Monroe Beard III leads the Golden Lions with 54 tackles through the season and plans to welcome the Rattlers into the Lion's Den with some more punishing stops.
UAPB head coach Doc Gamble has a lot of confidence in his guys this week after gaining momentum from the victory over Grambling State. "The team that I know is back, and we're getting some key guys back, which is a plus for us," said Gamble about the momentum boost for the Golden Lions.
UAPB is gearing up to compete against a crafty Florida A&M team who is currently on a six-game winning streak, coming off a 29 – 17 win last week over Southern.
