UAPB Women's Hoops Falls at Home to Central Arkansas

PINE BLUFF, AR -- The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women's basketball team fell short in a loss against the Bears of the University of Central Arkansas, with a final score of 74 – 70 on Tuesday night at the H.O. Clemmons Arena.


Kaila Walker had a career-high of 22 points and five rebounds for the Golden Lions, who had three players in double figures. Joyce Kennerson added 12 points and five assists, and Trasity Totten scored 11 points and three assists.


The Lady Lions shot a solid 80 percent from the free-throw line, making 20 of 25 from the stripe. However, the Lady Lions had a tough night rebounding, with UCA outrebounding the Lady Lions 47 – 28, 20 of them offensive.


UAPB, which never led in the game, kept chipping away and making mini runs, the last in the fourth quarter in cutting the led to three several times. A Kennerson layup cut the Golden Lions' deficit to 68-65 with 2:30 remaining but could get no closer.


The Lady Lions return to action on Thursday, Dec. 10th, hosting Arkansas State at 6 p.m. at H.O. Clemmons Arena.
