UAPB Women's Hoops Lands Two for SWAC Weekly Honors

PINE BLUFF, AR -- The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women’s basketball team took over the Southwestern Athletic Conference in the SWAC Weekly Honors, with two Lady Lions titled Player of the Week and Impact Player of the Week.


Showing why she’s one of the top guards in the country, Zaay Green demonstrated the Southwestern Athletic Conference well over the past week and would acquire the SWAC Player of the Week award. Green played a significant role in the Lady Lion’s 79-74 upset against Tulane and the hard-fought Miami battle.


Green would average 13.5 points per game and seven rebounds in both games. Green’s high from the week would be against Tulane with 17 points and nine boards.


Sade Hudson is another threat for the Lady Lions and would be titled SWAC Impact Player of the Week. Hudson also played a tremendous role in the Lady Lions victory over the Green Wave and showed a ton of heart in the Miami matchup.


Through the Miami Holiday Classic, Hudson averaged 12.5 points per game and 1.5 rebounds, dishing two assists per game. Hudson scored a team-high of 13 points against Miami.


Catch these two superstars in action on Wednesday against the University of Alabama-Birmingham. The game will tip-off at 6 p.m. CT.
